The PSG grant for field service software in Singapore

How Singaporean SMEs can use the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) to adopt BeanRails — eligibility, the application process, and how much you can claim.

Last updated:

What is the PSG?

The Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) is a Singapore government initiative administered by Enterprise Singapore. It supports local SMEs in adopting pre-approved digital solutions that improve productivity — and field service software is one of the supported categories.

For eligible SMEs, PSG covers up to 50% of qualifying costs, capped at S$30,000 per solution per company. For most service businesses adopting BeanRails, that's effectively half off the first year of subscription.

Is BeanRails on the PSG pre-approved list?

Yes. BeanRails is on the PSG pre-approved list for field service management. This means the grant covers the subscription cost without requiring a separate vendor evaluation. You apply through the Business Grants Portal, cite BeanRails, and the approval is straightforward.

Eligibility

To qualify for PSG support for BeanRails, your business needs to meet the standard PSG eligibility criteria:

  • Registered in Singapore — ACRA-registered business entity
  • At least 30% local shareholding — by Singapore citizens or PRs
  • Group annual turnover not exceeding S$100 million — or group employment not exceeding 200 workers
  • Solution used in Singapore — the software must support operations based in Singapore

Most SMEs with 2-50 technicians in service industries (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, facilities management, cleaning, security, etc.) qualify.

What's covered

PSG covers the qualifying subscription costs of BeanRails for the supported period. The coverage is up to 50% of qualifying costs, capped at S$30,000 per solution per company. For a typical 5-technician team subscribing to BeanRails at S$49/technician/month, the first-year qualifying cost is around S$2,940 — PSG covers roughly S$1,470 of that.

For larger teams (e.g. 20 technicians at S$49/technician/month = S$11,760/year), PSG covers up to S$5,880 of the first year.

What's NOT covered

PSG covers the subscription cost. It does not cover:

  • Hardware (phones, tablets, laptops)
  • Custom development or bespoke integrations
  • Training costs beyond what's included in the solution
  • Ongoing support beyond the standard subscription

The application process

PSG applications go through the Business Grants Portal (BGP). Here's the step-by-step.

  1. Sign up for BeanRails — start your 14-day free trial so your account is active
  2. Log in to the Business Grants Portal — via SingPass at businessgrants.gov.sg
  3. Select BeanRails as the solution — search the pre-approved list for "field service management"
  4. Submit your application — including your ACRA details, the subscription cost, and a short project write-up
  5. Wait for approval — typically 4-6 weeks
  6. Receive the grant disbursement — after the first subscription period is paid

Tips for a successful application

  • Start the BeanRails trial before applying — it shows the solution is real and in use
  • Quantify the productivity improvement — e.g. "X hours per week recovered in scheduling and invoicing"
  • Get your ACRA details in order — the portal validates against ACRA records
  • Don't pre-pay the subscription before approval — PSG reimburses after payment, not before
  • Use a Singapore-registered SingPass — foreign directors cannot authorise the application

Common questions

Can I claim PSG if I'm already on BeanRails?
Yes — PSG can be applied retroactively within the qualifying period. Talk to us about timing.

Does PSG cover the mobile app?
Yes — the mobile app is part of the BeanRails subscription, which is the qualifying cost.

How often can I claim?
PSG can be claimed per solution per company. Subsequent renewals may also qualify under the same cap.

What if I'm not eligible?
BeanRails is still priced to be affordable without the grant — from S$49/technician/month, all features included.

The bottom line

The PSG grant makes BeanRails effectively half-price for the first year for eligible Singaporean SMEs. The application is straightforward, the approval is fast, and the savings are real. Start the BeanRails trial, apply through the Business Grants Portal, and you'll have operational software running this month at half the cost.
